The people who build technology businesses
Zuza Henshaw works with executives and companies in blockchain, Web3 and related finance. She describes helping professionals find roles and helping companies recruit the people they need. Understanding the technology matters in that work, even though she is not the person creating it.
Looking beyond the excitement
When assessing ambitious technology ideas, Henshaw asks how the business would work and where revenue would come from. She presents this as her own practical approach, not expert certainty. She also sees a need for people who understand a product well enough to explain its value to potential users, including in sales and marketing.
Does this work count as STEM?
Even the interview invitation prompted Henshaw to wonder whether she belonged, because her work is recruitment and advice rather than building technology. She distinguishes that current question from an earlier feeling that STEM study was mainly for men, a view she no longer holds. She wishes she had seen a robotics lab when younger to connect school subjects with making things. Her call for wider exposure also recognises that not every girl will want the same career.
